After you get accepted to Notre Dame, there are many housing options that you must consider. Most first-year students live on campus simply because it is easier to apply for your school loan and student housing at the same time. On campus room and board will cost you slightly under ten thousand dollars a year. That’s a deal when you compare it to the cost of an apartment or house with utilities. When applying for on campus housing, you will need to apply before the deadline of December 31st prior to the year you will start school. The school sends acceptance letters by April 10th. You must reply and pay your deposit by May 1st.
There are four different on campus facilities. Two of the housing groups are for single students, one is for married students, and the fourth one is for single students with children. The college communities are strongly engaged in community service, spiritual and social events are scheduled weekly and monthly. The communities include students and residents that help support other students, since most first year students usually endure home sickness and stress associated with being away from home. If on campus housing isn’t for you, there are other choices for affordable quality housing within one mile or less from the school. These are small single family homes that are kept up by local property management groups. Many of these homes include a washer, dryer, and a security system. However, expect to pay more when you live off campus.

The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame are located in the state of Indiana. The team competes in the NCAA Football Bowl. Many of the players go on to complete their degrees before ever going professional, if they do. This is a great achievement because at most colleges, football players normally go to college just to play football. The Fighting Irish have been playing football since 1887. They lost their first game but went on to bigger and better things.
The team has several pre-game rituals. As they line up to attend a pre-game mass, they walk through a line of their fans. They always attend this mass before every game that they play to have a time of prayer. They also slap a sign that hangs over the door of their locker room prior to ever game. The sign reads, "Play Like a Champion Today". This great team has trained more All-Americans then any others. Seven of their players have won the Heisman Trophy. Their fans have been very loyal throughout all of the years. The stadium at Notre Dame is always filled to capacity with people. The stadium can seat over 80 thousand people in the stands. They started out in Cartier Field, but soon outgrew the area. You can hear the cheers from blocks away from the stadium. The Fight Irish have gone to three Bowl games in their history. These were all played in the 1970s. Forty eight of their players and coaches are in the College Football Hall of Fame. This is more than any other college in the United States.

The Fighting Irish went to three Bowl games in their history. These were all played in the 1970s. The team started playing football in 1887 at the University of Notre Dame. They lost their first game, but went on to bigger and better things. The great Irish have won thirteen national championships in their years of playing football. Forty eight of their players and coaches are in the College Football Hall of Fame. This is more than any other college in the United States. The great thing about the football players at Notre Dame is that most of the men that play football graduate from the college. This is a great achievement because at most colleges, the players go just to play football. They go on to be professionals, but do not get their degrees from college. The Notre Dame stadium can seat over eighty thousand people in the stands. They started out in Cartier Field, but soon outgrew the area. They did keep the name for their practice fields. Some interesting facts are that before each game the Fighting Irish play, the students paint the helmets of all the players gold. The team also attends mass in their uniforms just before they start any game. As they line up to attend mass, they walk through a line of their fans and slap the “Play Like a Champion Today” sign. If you like football games, you will always love the action of the Fighting Irish. |
